Print materials. Photo by Erica Brisson. The Making of the 2016 Tandem Creative Identity, Some Notes Hi, I’m Erica Brisson. I’m a Canadian visual artist and facilitator who is currently based in Berlin. I did the art direction, design, and illustrations for the new Tandem creative identity. Working closely with the Tandem team over the past year and a half, I created elements including logos, colours, fonts, illustrations, layouts, key wording, as well as hand-lettered texts and graphic elements. These became the basis for several projects, including an illustrated book, postcards, and posters. They are are also part of the new website. Tandem is swiftly growing and changing. So the main challenge for the creative identity was to find an approach that would help people recognise Tandem and what Tandem stands for, but also be flexible enough to grow with Tandem as it moves forward. The result was a playful, do-it-together approach that reflects Tandem’s commitment to values of daring, trust, and play. Here are a few images of some of the things that we made! Tandem Logo. She uses drawings, handwritten notes, and graphic design to lyrically report on her encounters with people, places, and ideas. Warm, playful, and colourful, her projects explore themes of memory, communication, place, and identity. Erica has produced commissioned works, workshops, as well as exhibitions for Canadian arts and social institutions, including Koffler Arts, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, The Art Gallery of Ontario, and Harbourfront Centre, as well as more recently in Berlin for the ZK/U Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Coaching, and the Projected Memory project.
