Tandem Ukraine Alumni Look Forward to the Future

Tandem Ukraine alumni from different Ukrainian cities met in Khata-Maysternia, in the Carpathian mountains, between 8 and 20 June, to discuss the future of the programme.

They came from Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Kherson, Melitopol, Odesa, representing three different rounds/generations of Tandemians.

Together, they discussed what kind of presence and impact the Tandem programme has had in Ukraine and the region since its inception in 2011.

They also discussed which organisations will benefit the most from participating in the next round of the programme that will take place in 2019. Another important point that was brought up is: how to make the programme more inclusive and open to organisations which, for different reasons, have been unable to make it through the selection process.

Sharing some open questions that the Tandem team has together with alumni has been very enriching and helpful for future planning.

By the end of the meeting, alumni and the team have identified some areas where alumni will take lead to make sure that the programme has a strong growing civil society network in Ukraine and the region.
