Andra Vaida

Meet Andra, Programme Officer for Tandem Ukraine.

I joined the Tandem team at a time when I just had finished a second Master’s Degree, this one in World Heritage Studies, and the vision I had on my professional future was kind of blurry.

After having gathered a diverse work experience in the cultural field in Romania and in Germany, in both freelance and employment collaborations, as well as as a translator and interpreter, I was starting to reflect on my work. I was wondering more and more about why and how I do things instead of asking myself what I wanted to achieve next.

Knowing now how important the WHY and the HOW, as well as the explorative spirit, are in the Tandem approach, I can’t help but thinking that maybe it wasn’t a coincidence that I landed here in this period of my life after all 🙂

Working with a great team of people in this exciting, dynamic and also challenging programme – as we try to bring people and cultural professionals together not only across countries, continents and disciplines, but also throughout very diverse social, political and economic contexts – has been a rewarding learning experience in many ways.
