R84 Assiociation

R84 Association is a Multifactory, a community of artists, craftsmen, freelancers and entrepreneurs located in the industrial area of Mantua, in the North of Italy. The community of workers has been established in 2017 as a shared workspace with the objective of requalifying an area of over 12000 square meters formerly belonging to the local refinery. To date, R84 Multifactory hosts over 40 activities in a self-organized environment promoting entrepreneurs' social responsibility,  mutual help and horizontal governance. Thanks to its location in between rural and urban, center and periphery, R84 is active in promoting synergies between local actors supporting social, institutional, economical and environmental sustainability. In particular, since 2019 the association is coordinating a project of urban reforestation, the Post-industrial Forest, in an abandoned and polluted area close to the Mincio river banks.
