Moddertij / Marée de boue

Tandem Friesland program allowed Met Kunst Meer Mens (Leeuwarden) and Les Pas Perdus (Marseille) to meet, exchange about their collaborative art practices, do research on frysian popular esthetics and elaborate together a contemporary art project. Moddertij is a large scale community art project that will take place in 2020 on the coast of the Wadden See (Paesens-Moddergat, and other villages around in Fryslân region). The intention is to propose a public space installation.

"Moddertij / Marée de boue": a connection between Marseille (France) & Leeuwarden (the Netherlands)

The process

On the Frysian coast of the Wadden Sea, the Marseilles based artistic group Les Pas Perdus discovered the esthetics of Moddergat-Paesans and other villages around in Fryslân region. Moddertij, a contemporay art project is planned for 2020. Tandem Friesland program allowed Met Kunst Meer Mens (Leeuwarden, European Capital of Culture 2018) and Les Pas Perdus (Marseilles) to meet and exchange about their collaborative art practices.
